Example:

Armando: If George Washington was knocked off his horse…yeah he will.

Note: When my husband first said this dicho to me, he translated into English and swapped independence fighter/founding father for Latin America Simon Bolívar for American founding father George Washington, thinking that it’d be easier to understand. I was completely baffled until he explained, in detail, why in the world he’d make the change, what the meaning of this saying was, and why people getting knocked off horses meant uncertainty. In any case, that’s Washington on the horse about to fall, and it’s Bolívar pushing as a nod to that :)
